Injections place medication exactly where it’s needed. Cortisone (steroid) reduces local inflammation; a local anesthetic may be paired for short-term numbing or diagnostic clarity. For neuromas, an alcohol sclerosing series can shrink the irritated nerve over time. In select ankle arthritis cases, hyaluronic acid may improve joint lubrication. We choose the option that fits your diagnosis and goals.

• Before: Brief exam; imaging if helpful; review of medicines/allergies.
• During: Skin is cleaned; a small needle delivers medicine to the precise spot—often guided by ultrasound for accuracy and comfort.
• After: A short rest period; most patients walk out and resume light activity the same day. You’ll get simple aftercare instructions.

• Relief can be immediate to a few days (faster if anesthetic is used).
• Best results come when injections are paired with footwear changes, custom orthotics or padding, and a brief rehab plan.
• Some conditions need a short series (e.g., neuroma alcohol injections).

• Temporary soreness, a brief pain “flare,” or skin flushing can occur.
• Rare risks include infection, skin/light fat thinning, or tendon weakening.
• We avoid steroid injections into the Achilles tendon (rupture risk); alternatives are discussed for tendon pain.
